Hardscrabble Club Tennis - JDP (Junior Development Program)

Meets 1 Day Per Week for 10 Weeks For pre-school kids, ages 3 to 5. Introductory tennis on mini-courts using small racquets and soft balls. Fun games and drills are used to develop the gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination that is also good for all other sports.

For Kindergarten thru’ Grade 5, this program teaches basic tennis skills including correct form, footwork and strokes – a great program for beginners thru’ intermediates.

For Grades 6 to 8, this program teaches basic thru’ advanced skills. While the emphasis is on the fundamentals such as footwork and stroke mechanics, the drills introduced here also help to develop control. Kids are taught the rules of the game and introduced to singles and doubles play and strategies. For High School kids, Grades 9 thru’ 12, this recreational program teaches basic thru’ advanced skills. While building on a foundation that reinforces good footwork and strokes, the drills will also teach movement, control and consistency. Besides rules and strategy, players also learn thru’ playing out points, as in real matches.
