Adult Tennis Programs back
1) Instructional Clinics – Men’s and Women’s
1½ hour group training with a Pro. Learn the correct techniques and footwork for a variety of shots and strokes, as well as learn about point development – take your game to the next level! Variable curriculum can be tailored to a group’s particular needs. Fixed day and time for the entire semester (21 weeks).

Fri: 9:00 -10:30 am
Mon to Fri: 10:30 am -12:00 noon
Mon to Thu: 7:30 - 9:00pm
Cost: $945 for 21 weeks ($45 per 1½ hour), payable in 5 equal installments of $189/month
2) Stroke-of-the-Day Clinics – Men and/or Women, all levels
These clinics focus on just one stroke or shot each time – a great way to work on your trouble spots, or to add something new to your repertoire. Stroke mechanics and tactics will be covered. Variable curriculum can be tailored to a group’s particular needs min. 3 players to form a class, max 5 players to a court. 3) Seniors Clinics (60 years and up)
1½ hour group training with a Pro, offering perfectly paced drills for the senior player. Learn correct techniques for a variety of shots and strokes, as well as learn about point development. Variable curriculum can be tailored to a group’s particular needs.…… min. 3 players to form a class, max 5 players to a court.

4) Private Lessons
Nothing compares with a private, one-on-one lesson with your own instructor - the best way to learn new techniques and to fix weaknesses and bad habits. It’s also a great workout, with no one else sharing your court!
Book ‘Open Lessons’: 1 at a time, or 5-Pack – you must reserve the day and time each time thru’ Front Desk, up to 7 days in advance.
Or ‘Lock-in 21-Pack’: reserve a guaranteed spot on a fixed day and time each week, all semester long.

5) Game Arranging Service
Love to play but can’t commit to fixed days and times? Just looking for a singles game or perhaps a foursome? A mixed-doubles match-up? We’re here to help. Please list yourself for this service and we’ll do our best to match you up with other compatible players looking for the same thing.
Cost: only Court Fee will be charged each time you play, for this complimentary service.
6) Cardio Tennis Clinics
A fun group activity, featuring fast-paced drills set to music; this clinic is not aimed at perfecting your strokes, but rather at giving players of all abilities a high energy, heart-pumping, calorie-burning work-out that is a blast for all! …………………….min. 3 players to form a class, max. 6 players to a court.

7) 3 and Pro Doubles
This is great for anyone interested in having a member of the Pro Staff as their 4th in a reserved doubles game – you will love it! We’ll even show you how those high lobs and nasty drop-shots are handled, but remember - we play to win! All 3 players must reserve together.

8) Season-Opener Team Tryouts
Tryouts are scheduled for all teams, all levels, Men’s and Women’s. Anyone interested must attend a tryout unless you’ve been on the team before. You will be officially rated by a Pro and all aspects of the team format, practices, matches, line-up, etc. will be explained.
Days & Times:
Tuesday, 9/7 to Friday, 9/11: 9:30 – 10:00 am and
Wednesday, 9/9: 7:30-8:00 pm
Cost: No charge for ‘Tryouts’ – open to all interested members.
9) Adult Tournament Training Program
Includes tennis drills, match-play, strategy and tactics, as well as fitness conditioning and agility drills for high-performance – everything it takes to win! We’ve got the experienced and knowledgeable Pros and the facilities – take advantage of it.

10) Annual Club Championship Tournament
A ‘Members Only’ Event that you do not want to miss – show your ‘club spirit’, block the dates right now! Who wouldn’t want to be the ‘Club Champ’?! Sign up in advance. Men’s and Women’s Mixed – Singles (A & B) and Doubles (A & B), min. 4 entries required in each draw.
Days & Times: Weekend of 11/20 – 11/22, match times TBA.

11) USTA Adult Ranking Tournaments:
Hardscrabble Club hosts 3 types of Adult USTA Tournaments. For the first 2 types, in general, players earn points towards rankings from each round played – these are ‘single elimination’ tournaments. You must have an active USTA membership # to enter USTA tournaments. They are open to non-members. You must enter online: tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments. All USTA rules governing tournaments apply:
a) USTA / NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) Tournament – by ability levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, etc. – age is not taken into consideration.
b) USTA Adult or Senior Ranking Tournaments – by age groups: in 5 yr. increments, from 30 – 90 years, for men and women, singles and doubles.
c) USTA Open Tournaments – open to any player of any level or age.
The ‘Hardscrabble Series Tournaments’ (w/Prize Money) belong to this type.
Even if you’re not playing yourself, do come and watch some really fine tennis at these events, and cheer your friends! The following tournaments are on schedule for Fall 2009:
