Randy Mani
is a former world ranked touring Pro, whose career highlights include qualifying to play at the French Open (1982) and Wimbledon (1982 and ’83). He has a BA (English Literature). Randy is USPTR (Professional) certified and is well known in the USTA/Eastern’s world of Junior Tennis as a top caliber Coach. With more than 22 years of coaching experience, Randy’s students include several juniors who have achieved top Sectional, National and/or ITF rankings – and who have gone on to represent their colleges on Div I and II teams and/or also played professionally. Randy is inspired by and dedicated to the art of coaching tennis, as is evident in all programs spearheaded by him.

Jay Devashetty
is the Director of Player Development and of the High Performance (ITF) Program at Hardscrabble Club. He was a Top-5 Junior in India, as well as Top-10 in the Men’s Division. Jay has a degree in polymer science engineering, but has preferred coaching tennis at RMTA since 1996 - he has USPTR (Professional) and USTA High-Performance Coach certifications. During these many years, Jay has coached and guided many RMTA juniors to success, helping them achieve top Sectional and National rankings, as well as ITF, WTA and/or ATP rankings.

Richard Krizso
was a top-ranked player in Slovakia and was Captain of the Hungarian Junior Tennis Team. Before joining RMTA in 2001, Richard coached several of Europe’s top players, including a junior champ – Nagy Kyra and women’s champ – Marosi Katalin. Richard is USPTR (Professional) Certified. He is Director of RMTA’s Tournament Training Program (TTP), works exclusively with aspiring juniors and has many past and current ranked players, including at the professional level, as his students.

Jeffrey Scott
has over 20 years experience in the tennis industry. His mission has been to "grow the game" and spread the “gospel of tennis” to as many people as humanly possible. Mr. Scott is excited to be joining the reputable Hardscrabble Club as Adults Tennis Director in fall of 2009, and is looking forward to the opportunity of injecting “the Hardcore Mentality” at the Hardscrabble club! Mr. Scott is a lifelong Westchester resident who currently resides in Pelham, NY. He tries to remind his students of his mantra if they train hard, they will play well!
The following are highlights of his tennis career:
- Founded the ScottScoop Tennis Company to run Scott’s most popular programs such as ScottScoop Leagues, Tennis Camps, USTA teams, and the ScottScoop internet tennis ladder. Scott’s programs have been conducted in a dozen of the well-known tennis facilities in the New York area.
- Mr. Scott’s Adult and Junior teams have accumulated over 30 USTA championship titles.
- Adult Program Director, Director of the Academy Curriculum and Associate Director of the coaching staff for the Yonkers Tennis Center for 15 years.
- Sectional Champion and National competitor in the USPTA seminar speech competition.
- Director of Summer Tennis at Westchester Country Clubs for a 10-year period in the ninety’s. Clubs included: Beckwith Pointe, the Surf Club and VIP club in New Rochelle.
- Mr. Scott’s competitive tennis playing experience includes sectional rankings & national level competition. Mr. Scott also won two Westchester A level championship titles with New Rochelle Tennis Club. He has trained at the Nick Bollettieri facility in Florida and has partnered together with Nick on tennis projects.

JP (Juan Pena)
is a USPTA certified Professional (Level 1) with over 25 years of teaching experience that includes beginners to tournament players. He has coached junior national champions in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He has been Resident Tennis Pro at 2 of Puerto Rico’s top hotels for 22 years. Some of JP’s career highlights are: Doubles Champ (18 and under) Dominican Republic, National Champion in Singles and Doubles, #1 Player – Singles and Doubles, Sacred Heart University, Puerto Rico (education: Masters in Labor Relations), Tournament of Champs. Winner (Puerto Rico), and 3-time Winner of the 35 and over Masters Singles and Father & Son Championship. JP has been a popular Staff Pro at the Club since 2006. He also manages the Club’s Pro Shop and all racquet-stringing.

Gabbriella Berta
a talented and ranked junior player in her native country, Hungary, Gabi brings her experience and knowledge of competitive tennis and of innumerable drills, etc. to the fun and fast-paced clinics she delivers. She joined RMTA as a Tennis Pro in 2002 and now works exclusively with Adults at the Club. Gabi has masters Degree in Public Health and is currently also studying towards her degree in nursing (RN).

Herman Batuyev
hailing from Ukraine, Herman was most recently the touring Coach of Yuliana Fedak (WTA #63) on the international circuit. He has years of experience, in-depth knowledge of the sport and has even authored a book on coaching tennis. Herman is Coach of the North Salem School’s Boys and Girls Varsity Teams. He teaches in the JDP and TTP Departments. He is also the Club’s Tournament Director and runs about 30 USTA Tournaments at the Club each year.

Lance Dorfi
a graduate of North Salem High School (2005), he had a USTA Sectional Ranking of Top-25 in Boys 16s at that time. He graduated from Manhattanville College (2009) with a degree in Business Management (Academic Honor Roll, Member / Business Honor Society). Lance captained the tennis team, leading them to their first ever ‘All-League’ title as well as he personally earned the ‘Sportsmanship Award’. He is USPTR (Instructor) certified and teaches primarily in the JDP. He continues to study towards a post-graduate degree.

Nika Koukhartchouk
was a top-ranked junior in Russia: #3 (16 and under), #8 (14 and under) and #499 (ITF in 2003). She also had a WTA ranking of #1101 in 2006. Nika ia USPTR (Professional) certified. She graduated from Univ. of Mississippi (Ole’ Miss) with an MBA (2008), was on multiple Honor Rolls, and played #1 Singles and Doubles and Captained the Women’s Team. Nika joined the Club in 2008 as a Tennis Pro. She teaches in multiple departments and simultaneously continues to train hard and work at her own game everyday as she travels and competes in various WTA tournaments around the country on an ongoing basis.

Alex (Oleksandr) Maksymov
graduated from the Specialized Youth Sports School / Tennis, Ukraine (1991) and went on to earn an MS in Machine Engineering (1997). He is also currently enrolled in Heronskiy State Univ., majoring in Phys. Ed. Alex has coached tennis since 2000, becoming Senior Coach at VVS Tennis Club (Ukraine). Before joining Hardscrabble Club in 2008, Alex traveled the international WTA circuit during his time as coach and hitting partner for top players such as Yuliana Fedak (WTA #63). He is an accomplished player and teaches in the TTP, JDP and Adult Departments.

Nesar Nayak
played several ranking tournaments in India and also Jr. ITF tournaments. He attended the Univ. of Illinois (major – Bio-Engineering) from 1999-2003, where he played #1 Singles and Doubles and was Conference Player of the Year in 2000. Nesar has been at the club since 2008. He is USPTA (Level 3) certified and is the Assistant Director of the club’s Junior Development Program. He is a popular Pro who teaches in the JDP as well as the TTP.

Ann-Kristen Siljestroem (AK)
started playing international tennis tournaments as a teen. She majored in Environmental Science at the Univ. of Stockholm, Sweden (2004) before joining and graduating from Middle Tennessee State Univ. with a BA (Economics) in 2008. Ann-Kristin’s tennis highlights at college include: NCAA Div1 All Conference Doubles Champ (’05), MT Champ Singles & Doubles (‘06), UTC Doubles Champ & Singles Finalist (’07), Team Captain ’07-’08 and Sunbelt Conference ‘Player of the Week’ several times. She was also named NCAA ‘Academic All-American’ 2006-07, Dean’s List and Honor Society member and earned the President’s Excellence Award, 2006. While at MTSU, she taught in several tennis clinics for kids. AK enjoys teaching tennis, and she teaches in the TTP, JDP and Adult Departments at the club.

Tolbert Oringi
while attending the College of Sports Science (Makere Univ.) in Uganda, Tolbert received 2 Certifications in Tennis Coaching – ITF / Level 2 and Olympic Solidarity Level 2. He taught tennis at the YMCA and the Kampala Country Club from 1998 – 2002 before becoming the Head Tennis Coach/PE Teacher at the American International School of Uganda from 2002-’05. Tolbert then moved to the USA, and was a Tennis Pro at the Fretz Tennis Center in Dallas, Texas for 2 years, from 2006-’08. Tolbert joined Hardscrabble Club in 2008, teaching tennis in the JDP and TTP. He USPTA certified and is also certified in USTA/’QuickStart’ Tennis and teaches this program to 4 – 7 year olds. Tolbert is a certified Sports Fitness Trainer and assists Randy in the daily fitness and conditioning sessions for TTP and High-Performance players.
